As a High School Social Studies teacher, Tara Seger wrote her own course on “Current Middle East Conflicts” and has retained several grants. For example, Tara Seger was selected for a Teacher Study Tour of the United Arab Emirates funded by the World Affairs Council of Dallas, Texas. She applied for this grant to enhance student understanding of other cultures around the world. She also has presented her unique curriculum to other teachers locally as well as at the SOCIOINT Social Studies Conference in Istanbul, Turkey in June 2019. She also regularly applies for grants for students to have direct conversations with refugees from conflict zones to ensure students comprehend the dire situations of other human beings on our planet earth. Tara hopes to inspire students to work together with others, as one global society, to prepare for a better future for generations to come. Tara is working to reward students with scholarships, and other grant opportunities, who show active citizenship for a better globe.
